🌶️ What You'll Need
The Taco Essentials
1 lb chicken
1 lb ground beef
8 soft tortillas
8 crunchy taco shells
Taco seasoning, to taste
The Fresh Fixings
1 cup shredded cheese
1 cup sour cream
2 cups chopped romaine lettuce
1 cup guacamole
1 cup pico de gallo
½ cup chopped cilantro
½ cup diced red onion
1½ cups roasted red, green, and yellow bell peppers
1 cup cooked black beans
2–3 fresh limes, cut into wedges
👩🍳 Step By Step
1️⃣ Get Those Proteins Cooking
Season your chicken and ground beef with your favorite taco spices. Cook separately until beautifully browned and fully cooked. Chicken should reach 165°F internally and ground beef 160°F.
2️⃣ Warm Things Up
Heat your soft tortillas and crunchy shells according to their package directions. Warm the cooked black beans and roasted peppers.
3️⃣ Build Your Taco Board
Grab a large round serving board or platter and plenty of small bowls. Arrange the cheese, sour cream, guacamole, pico de gallo, lettuce, onions, cilantro, and other toppings around the board.
4️⃣ Bring On The Good Stuff
Add your tortillas and taco shells. Place the warm proteins in separate heatproof serving dishes alongside the board. Finish with lime wedges for that final squeeze of sunshine.
5️⃣ Let The Taco Party Begin
Set everything in the middle of the table and let everyone get creative. Keep the hot foods hot, and refrigerate perishables within two hours.
🌮 Taco Tuesday Style!
The beauty of a DIY taco board is that no two tacos need to be alike. One person can go all-in on beef, cheese, and crunchy shells, while another loads up on chicken, guacamole, and fresh veggies. Same dinner, endless combinations!
One board. A hundred possibilities. Zero boring tacos. 🌮🔥
