What You’ll Need 🌶️✨
1/2 onion, diced
1.5 lbs thin-cut beef bottom round (or your favorite cut)
3 tsp salt
3 tsp pepper
3 tsp garlic powder (or 3 minced garlic cloves)
Oil (for cooking)
Telera bread
Mayo
1 purple onion, sliced
Tomatoes, sliced
Lettuce, shredded
Avocados, sliced
Crema (for topping)
Queso panela
🔥 Step By Step
1️⃣ ONION SIZZLE STARTER 🧅✨
Drizzle oil into a pan over low–medium heat. Let it warm up, toss in diced onion, and cook until soft and translucent. Smells like game time.
2️⃣ BEEF UP THE SITUATION 🥩🔥
Chop beef into small pieces. Hit it with salt, pepper, and garlic powder (or fresh garlic). Mix it up so every bite’s got flavor locked in.
3️⃣ BROWN & BUILD FLAVOR 🍳
Add beef to the pan and cook until it browns and starts flexing those juices. If using fresh garlic, drop it in now and cover. Cook another 3–5 minutes until juices are mostly gone. Kill the heat.
4️⃣ FRESH STACK CREW 🥑🍅
Slice purple onion, tomatoes, and avocado. Shred lettuce. Light salt + pepper to wake everything up.
5️⃣ BREAD GLOW-UP 🥖🔥
Slice open telera rolls, scoop out a little inside (trust the process). Spread mayo, then toast until golden and crispy on a pan or comal.
6️⃣ CHEESE WITH A TAN 🧀✨
Slice queso panela thin and toast it until slightly charred and melty. We’re chasing that crispy-edge magic.
7️⃣ BUILD THE MONSTER 🏗️
Spread beans on the bread. Layer queso panela, then pile on that bistec. Add avocado, onions, tomatoes, and lettuce. Finish with crema like you mean it.
8️⃣ FINAL MOVE: DEVOUR 🌮⚡
