🔥 Why Sweet Heat Just Works
Here's the thing about peaches: They aren't just for pies and cobblers.
The Sweet: Ripe peaches bring a juicy, natural sweetness that plays beautifully against savory, paprika-seasoned shrimp.
The Heat: Warm spices give the shrimp flavor, while an optional little jalapeño brings the kick for anyone who likes their salsa with some fire.
The Balance: Fresh lime cuts through the sweetness, red onion adds bite, and the basil and cilantro keep everything bright and fresh.
The result? Every bite gets a little sweetness, a little spice, and a whole lot of freshness.
That's what makes this combination so good. No single flavor takes over, and you immediately want another bite.

1 cup chopped cilantro
1 large handful fresh basil, chopped
Juice of 1 lime
Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Shrimp Tacos
1½ lbs shrimp, peeled and deveined
1–2 tbsp olive oil, plus a little for the pan
Garlic powder, to taste
Paprika, to taste
Oregano, to taste
Salt and pepper, to taste
Tortillas of choice
Optional Taco Tuesday Twist
Finely diced jalapeño, to taste.
Add to the peach salsa for extra heat.
👩🍳 Step By Step
1️⃣ Make the Peach Salsa
Combine the diced peaches, tomato, red onion, cilantro, basil, and lime juice in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper, then toss gently. Add the optional jalapeño if you want some heat.
2️⃣ Season the Shrimp
Pat the shrimp dry and toss with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
3️⃣ Get That Sizzle
Heat a lightly oiled skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for about 1½–2 minutes per side, until pink, opaque, and cooked through. Shrimp cooks fast, so have your tongs ready.
4️⃣ Build Your Tacos
Warm your tortillas, add the shrimp, and pile on that peach salsa. Finish with an extra squeeze of lime if you're feeling it.
